Our Providers

Joanna Swartzbaugh, MD

Dr. Swartzbaugh earned her bachelor’s degree in physics at the University of Florida in Gainsville, Florida. She also holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville, Virginia and completed her residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Swartzbaugh is a Diplomat with the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. In addition to English, she speaks German.  

David Weitman, MD, PhD

Dr. Weitman earned his Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Biochemistry from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York prior to earning his Doctor of Medicine from State University of New York in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at George Washington Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he also received subspecialty training in pediatric neurosurgery and cranial base surgery. Dr. Weitman is a Diplomat with the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He also serves on the Spine Study Group as part of his membership with the Maine Medical Assessment Foundation.
